If there was never a disco backlash would house have been named nu-disco rather than what nu-disco actually is: a revival of the lost art of discoteque music?

There was a time when disco was an epithet, but by the time I was a DJ the fervent anti-disco fervor of the 80s had ended. As a mobile DJ soon people wanted disco at their weddings where years before they would have been ridiculed for such a transgression.

What disco clearly illustrates is that good music can't be held down by popular opinion or fashion. If it's good, people will want to hear it. Even if there are moments in history when they might not admit as much to their friends.
